Free Streaming Offer During Lockdown
Dear audience,
as of today, November 22, a new lockdown has begun. After being closed for almost seven months during the 2020/21 season, the Vienna State Opera must now once again cancel all performances up to and including December 12.
As you can imagine, this situation is a very stressful and difficult one for the entire staff in the house. However, the team of the State Opera has drawn a lot of motivation from the fact that you have attended our performances in such large numbers in the past weeks and months, despite all the difficulties and new regulations. Your loyalty to our house is our greatest motivation.
We will therefore continue to work and rehearse in the coming weeks in order to be able to play for you again at the earliest possible date, with a full program. The premiere of Don Giovanni, directed by Barrie Kosky and scheduled for December 5, will also take place, not in front of an audience in the hall, but in front of a large audience via ORF III and stream.
